Charite is the Creole word for “giving alms.”

During the economic downturn it’s easy for us to forget about the
situations of those in our neighboring countries where the poorest Americans would be considered wealthy. The average Haitian has to make due on about 2 dollars a day. Charite is the Creole word for ‘to give alms’. The goal of this even is raise awareness about the current level of poverty in the world around us, benefit various relief aid trips to the Caribbean and to help raise support for the South Carolina Botanical Gardens.
